Privacy policy

Australian Pool Distributors Pty Ltd (ABN 71 694 982 628), trading as The OUTBACK Shop ("we", "us"), respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through shop.outback.com.au. We handle it in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

  • Name, email, phone number, and billing and delivery addresses when you order, create an account, contact us or sign up to our newsletter.
  • Order history and messages you send us.
  • Technical information such as IP address, device and browser type, and pages visited, collected through cookies and similar tools.

Payments are processed by our payment providers (such as Shopify Payments and PayPal). We don't store your full card details.

How we use it

  • To process, deliver and support your order, including warranty claims.
  • To reply to your questions.
  • To send marketing emails if you've agreed to receive them.
  • To run, secure and improve our website, and to meet our legal obligations.

Newsletter and marketing

We only send marketing emails or SMS if you've opted in, for example by signing up to our newsletter or ticking the box at checkout. Every marketing message identifies us and includes an unsubscribe link, and we action unsubscribe requests within 5 business days.

Who we share it with

We share information only as needed with service providers who help us run the business. These include Shopify (our store platform), payment providers, couriers and delivery partners, installers you've asked us to connect you with, email marketing tools and our professional advisers. We don't sell your personal information.

Some of these providers, including Shopify, store data overseas (for example in the United States and Canada). We take reasonable steps to make sure they protect it.

Cookies

We use cookies for the cart, checkout, analytics and advertising (for example Google). You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you by emailing store@pooldistributors.com.au. If you have a privacy complaint, contact us first and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (www.oaic.gov.au).
